Coming up with floor plans has been quite an interesting feat- first of all we are still needing the perfect plot of land to come up (fingers crossed I have an idea I'm ready to set into motion on a piece of land).
But not only that - but after countless thoughts and research, we have decided a few things.
1. Most units will be 1 bedroom. There may a few 2 bedroom or studio style units, but one bedroom seems to be the smartest plan for ownership.
2. HOA fees will be high, but will be all inclusive to the majority of the services provided through the organization. This will help to lower the initial price of purchasing a unit.
3. Initial set up will look more like a hotel and less like a neighborhood. Additional one and two bedroom small houses will be available behind the main building and the front part of the property will be set up for commercial/retail rental spaces.
What a fun month January was!
If I drank coffee, I'd be drinking it nonstop at this point, but things are still going well.
Working on floorplans over the last couple weeks to come up with the perfect plan to work for all our future residents- One story, one bedroom condos seems to be the best bet- with a few tiny houses in the back of the neighborhood for expansion.
The amount of extras we have added into the planning has been amazing. We have looked into adding special pucks above the stovetop in case of fire to create extra safety in mind. We then decided to do the entire bathroom as a wet room, so no matter how much water ended up splashing out of the tub, there would be a safe way to handle the spills.
Why didn't we decide for two bedrooms? It was an interesting discussion- we know how others may have wanted to have a roommate for their child, but we knew the risks that could have come with having roommates. Fights, disagreements over who would be able to do what, or who would end up with the room if there was a disagreement they couldn't work out... So one bedrooms is what we decided for the majority, if not all the rooms within the center.
