Across North Carolina, children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities encounter fragmented, inconsistent, and often age-limited supports that do not adequately prepare them for lifelong independence. Existing programs are often siloed- disconnecting them from a well-rounded, cohesive whole family experience and leaving the individual with disabilities and their family frustrated. There is a critical need for an integrated, person-centered service model that bridges education, vocational training, and daily supports- empowering individuals with disabilities to build independence, obtain employment, and actively participate in their communities.
LH Education was created to be a comprehensive education and life skills organization dedicated to supporting individuals of all ages and abilities through innovative programs that foster independence, growth, and community inclusion. Our mission is to provide a continuum of care and learning opportunities from early intervention to adult transition and residential programs - that empower participants to reach their fullest potential academically, professionally and personally.
